Day of the Dead has been on my mind since last September. Several people in my life died, and even more to the point, it leaves the living with things to think about. And since I am firmly planted in my sixties now, I am rethinking who, what, why, where and what. Having lived near the US/Mexico border most of my adult life, I am grateful for the color and mixture of cultures. The skulls are inspired by the sugar skulls that are made and given, during the celebrations of Day of the Dead, Novembver 1st and 2nd. Mine are about archetypes, instead of specific individuals.

    Hey Cece
I just happened on your website and decided to see what you are up to. You may not remember me but I am a friend of Teri’s and almost lived in Silver City. Alas, not to be. Still love your work (we bought the piece with the crows) , especially the Day of the Dead items (my favorite). Are you selling any of these?
    Best

    Hi Helen,

Yes, I certainly do remember you. The dishwasher is one of my best friends. It has taken some time to reply, this year has been filled, way to much, with family illiness. I am spending time between my parents and (happily) my son’s family, with yet another little baby soon to come. Of course, everything is for sale….the Blue Dome Gallery handles my work, and recently moved out to Bear Mountain Lodge, which the gallery owners bought. You may know all of this because Teri is doing their web site. Anyway, hope this finds you well, peaceful and ready to enjoying this holiday season, best wishes, Cece
